Aren't there any options in the notification area for Mcafee to disable the real time protection and proceed with Vista setup? -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

I doubt it. Virus software is usually very OS dependent. PC-Cillin has a free version for Vista (http://www.my-etrust.com/Microsoft/vista/default.aspx). You'll need to upgrade. PC-Cillin is a great AV program.

I think issue is Mcacfee preventing Vista from being installed. You can also try the beta 2 release: http://www.mcafee.com/us/enterprise/downloads/beta/beta_mcafee/vse.html -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

Ah. Ok I see... I checked that page, and yes McAfee is Vista compatible too: ---- Minimum Workstation Requirements
Windows XP Home and Professional SP1 or greater Windows 2000 Professional SP3 or later Windows Vista Microsoft Internet Explorer, version 5.0 or higher ---- That does make it better. I was thinking that if he did upgrade, he'd have to install a different AV as well. Thanks for the info! :) I'm glad to see more people getting ready for Vista!
